Welcome to Music Kollab ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience on our platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and services.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Username, first name, and last name
• Display name and profile bio
• Profile picture (optional)
• Musical specialties/skills you select
• Collaboration availability preferences

Audio Content

When you use our service, we store:

• Audio files you upload (stems, tracks, Sound Vibes)
• Audio metadata (duration, format, BPM, key, sample rate)
• Audio analysis data (waveforms, spectral features for similarity search)
• Mixer settings (volume, pan, mute/solo states)

Project and Collaboration Data

• Project titles, descriptions, and settings
• Collaborator relationships and permissions
• Comments and timestamped feedback
• Activity logs (uploads, edits, invitations)

Device and Usage Data

• Device type and operating system
• App preferences (handedness, notification settings)
• Session and authentication tokens

Weekly Interaction Tracking

For free tier users, we track weekly interaction counts to manage usage limits:

• Number of new DM conversations started this week
• Number of collaboration requests sent this week
• Week start date for reset purposes

Weekly counters reset every Monday at midnight (your local time). Historical weekly counts are not retained — only the current week's usage is stored.

Device Permissions

Our app may request access to:

• Microphone - to record audio
• Photo Library - to upload profile pictures
• File Storage - to import/export audio files
• Bluetooth - to connect external audio devices

You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings. Some features may not function without the required permissions.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the Music Kollab service
• Enable collaboration features between users
• Process audio files and generate waveforms
• Send notifications about project activity
• Track weekly interaction limits (new DM conversations and collaboration requests) for free tier users
• Improve our platform and fix bugs
• Prevent abuse and enforce our terms

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely across the following infrastructure:

• All data transmitted via HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Passwords hashed using industry-standard algorithms
• Account and project data stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL)
• Audio files stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage
• Row-level security ensures you only access your own data
• Authentication tokens stored securely on device

Data Sharing

We do NOT sell your personal information. Your data may be shared:

• With collaborators YOU invite to your projects
• Publicly, if you set projects or profile to "public"
• With service providers listed below who help operate the platform
• When required by law or legal process

Sound Vibes are always publicly visible, even if your profile is private.

Your Privacy Controls

You can control your privacy through:

• Profile visibility (Public/Followers/Private)
• Project visibility (Public/Private/Unlisted)
• Show/hide projects, collaborations, activity
• Block users from contacting you
• Notification preferences

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Opt-out of marketing communications

To delete your account, go to Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data including projects, audio files, and collaborations.

Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

• All personal data is permanently deleted
• All projects you created are deleted
• All audio files you uploaded are deleted
• Your comments and activity are removed

This action is irreversible. Please export any content you wish to keep before deleting your account.

Children's Privacy

Music Kollab is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Music Kollab:

• Supabase — Database, authentication, real-time features, and edge functions. Privacy Policy
• Cloudflare R2 — Audio file storage. Files are stored encrypted at rest. Privacy Policy
• RevenueCat — Subscription management and payment processing. RevenueCat processes purchase history and subscription status. Privacy Policy
• Expo / Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) / Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — Push notification delivery. Device push tokens are stored to deliver notifications. Expo Privacy Policy
• Sentry — Crash reporting and performance monitoring. Error reports may include device type, OS version, and anonymized stack traces. Privacy Policy

We do NOT use analytics, advertising, or behavioral tracking services.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of Music Kollab after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
